Caleb is 11 Months Old

Our little guy is giving us a run for our money. He's been all over the place this month. We like to call you bulldozer because you're always running over everything and everyone. You are very antsy and can't sit still for long at all. I can barely hold you without you squirming out of my hands. You don't like to be constrained to a stroller. It's been making my outings rather difficult. I'm looking forward to you starting to walk. It beats you crawling around on dirty floors!

This month you decided to be done with nursing. I wasn't ready or anticipating you weaning yourself and was a little sad. I tried and tried but you just weren't having it. You'd push away after a minute or two and if I tried to offer again you'd bite me!

This month you took your first steps. We were all so excited for you! Now every time you take a step Luke and Kate always jump up and down and praise you!

We celebrated your first christmas. We did Elf on the Shelf and our Elf's name was Jack. You would get so excited every time you found him. I'd also ask where he was and you would look around and say Jack! You'd like to point at him too. So on Christmas day I couldn't resist and had to let you play with Jack! You loved him!

You like to say Mama, Dada, you've said Jack:) and you also know the theme song to Star Wars thanks to Luke and Kate singing it everyday. Babababababa.

You've gotten into the fireplace numerous times, you climb up the stairs ALOT, you manage to get yourself into the bathrooms and pull yourself up on the rim of the toilet, eek! You have climbed out of your highchair and sat on top of your tray. You've broken numerous christmas ornaments and fragile items at Grammy and Pa-Pa's house. You have a fascination for dangerous things (sigh). So to sum it up...I've had a very hard time keeping up with you this month. Something tells me you won't be slowing down any.

Love you sweetums. I can't believe I'm planning your 1 year party, wahhh!!!

Caleb is 10 Months Old

These months seem to just run into each other they come and go so fast. This past month Caleb got to celebrate his first Thanksgiving. It conflicted with nap time so he slept through the family dinner but he woke up with an appetite and gobbled up some turkey, stuffing, green beans and mashed potatoes.

He's of course, growing like a weed and it's really hard to believe that in just two very short months my last baby is going to be one! I keep telling myself to take it all in but I just can't seem to take it in long enough.

He is on the move! He's gotten into the fireplace and managed to get a mouthful of ashes one day. When we say 'no' he thinks it's a game and crawls faster to the very thing we've said no too. He turns and gives us a big grin and giggle. He gets to the fire place so fast and so often that we've given Kate and Luke duties to pick him up and move him away. It's really cute how they jump up and sigh..Caleb!! No....and then pick up a baby not much smaller then them and carry him to the nearest corner. We've gotten the Christmas tree up and he LOVES to grab at the ornaments and pull them down.

You like to sit with your feet crossed.
You clap your hands.
You raise your hand above your head and point.
You have 4 teeth now.
You like to give open mouth kisses, love these!
You've been bitting ALOT while nursing...The only reason I'm still nursing is because you're my last baby and I know I'll miss it. But the biting, I'm praying it goes!
You and your brother and sister interact even more now. You guys almost communicate and dialogue it seems.
You eat SO much food. You literally eat adult size portions. And I haven't noticed if you're picky. You LOVE avocados. You are our first child to like avocados;)
You let us know you're done eating by dropping the food left on your tray on the floor.
When you play with toys you like to pick them up and then throw them.

Caleb is 9 Months Old

It's hard to believe in 3 months we'll be celebrating this little man's 1 year birthday. These months have been going so fast. We've enjoyed every moment of every second of the day with him. My heart skips a beat when I sneak into the room and our eyes meet. He's been showing how much of a Momma's boy he is this month. He's been going through a little seperation anxiety when he notices I walk away. But what I love most is when his face lights up when he sees me.

This month was a blur with all the fun things we had going on. Caleb had his first Halloween and was a cute little lion just like his brother was. He also got the dreaded hand, foot and mouth virus. It was AWFUL! Or more like, it looked AWFUL! He handled it pretty well but he had these horrible blisters/boils all over his face, hands, feet and butt.

What you've been up to this month!
  1. Two new teeth are sprouting and with that comes more drool and more whining.
  2. You're getting pretty quick with your cruising
  3. You are getting into everything. From crawling on the fire hearth and eating ashes to pulling yourself up on a dirty toilet that your brother left the seat up. I've had a number of parent fail moments this month.
  4. You eat so much food! and you aren't picky!!
  5. You've slowed down on the nursing.
  6. You just recently gotten into liking your paci and I love it. There's just something so cute about a baby and a paci!
  7. You like bath time a lot.
  8. You like to pick up toys and throw them
  9. You wave

Caleb is 8 Months Old

A month late in posting because I just could't squeeze in the time to upload the pictures. Can't believe how fast our guy is growing. It's been a fun month and he's been up too a lot. Mostly teething, drooling and getting teeth in this month!

Here's what's been happening..
  • You like to say, babababa
  • When you get excited you squeal and you like to compete with your brother and sister yelling the loudest
  • You like to wrestle with us
  • You've tried to stand up without holding onto anything.
  • You've been furniture cruising
  • You got another tooth in this month. You now have one on the bottom and one on the top
  • You've bit me several times nursing. Not fun. :)
  • You like to make sounds with your mouth
  • You like to pull Kate's hair
  • You are pretty tough and can grab toys back if they are taken from you
  • You like to put EVERYTHING in your mouth
  • You love to find shoes and put them in your mouth
  • You found the stairs and get to them quickly. You even crawl up them. There may have been a couple times you fell down the first two steps. Not a proud moment for me...

Luke's first day of Pre-K!

Luke had an extra pep in his step heading off to PRE-K!! I think he knew he was big man on campus. More then the other two years he was super excited to start school. I think because he knows this is the next step to kindergarten. He was never really interested in learning until the start of this year. I was a little worried I was going to have trouble with him liking to learn! But I think I told him enough this summer about what big kids and kindergartner's do that he was excited to learn and be just like them. Just this summer he started drawing his first 'real' pictures. His first picture was a robot and his second was of him at the top of a snow mountain and Caleb and Daddy at the bottom. I was the proudest Momma and have them hanging on our refrigerator with such pride.

And here's the big man off to school. Thanks Grammy and PaPa for the scholarship;)

Kate's first day of Preschool!

This was Kate's first year and she was just too cute and so excited to be doing something her older brother gets to do. I've never seen someone so excited to head off to school. I thought for sure once we would walk to class fear would creep in and she would decide it wasn't for her. Nope, she went straight into class without any hesitation. So much so, I had to walk into her class to make her give me a hug and kiss good bye. She was just too busy and independent for me. She's all about carrying her book bag and finding it herself when she gets out of class for the day.

I love how when I asked her how she liked her first day she actually answered! She said it was good and I asked what they learned and she said the days of the week. It's also really cute to watch her recite the snack time prayer. I love seeing those cute chunky hands being folded together and eyes squinted head bowed as they pray. So cute! She learned to tickle the wall (genius teacher idea to get the kids to stay against the wall!).

Katelyn has grown up so much since her 2nd birthday. She is such a little Momma. Always helping with Caleb and telling him and Luke what to do. She loves to make up her own songs and will dance, walk and play while singing. She also loves Mickey Mouse clubhouse and Minnie Mouse. She's really into superheroes and pretending she's batman too. Probably because the only dress up clothes she has in the house are Luke's....guess I need to purchase a couple princess gowns...:). Kate has an insane vocabulary and literally blows us away every day with her dialogue. Most the time she has us rolling with laughter because she's just so funny. She is also quite the artist. She usually prefers to draw and paint her masterpieces on the walls, table and her body so I don't have proof of her creativeness on paper quite yet. I'm very impressed with her skills though. She's able to draw shapes and copy letters. She holds her own too and keeps up very well with big brother. Of course she's also stubborn (two stubborn parents makes for all stubborn children) and has decided to not be potty trained. As much as she is a big girl with her milestones she still in her heart wants to be a baby. She's not quite ready to make that step.

Here she is off to her first day of preschool. Thank you Grammy and Pa-pa for the scholarship;). They are so happy!!

First day of Preschool!

The kids had their first month of preschool!
I was originally going to combine both Luke and Kate's preschool blog entry into one post but then realized I wanted Kate to have her very own post since this was her very first year in preschool! Had to make our little girl feel special too:).
