I think I'm obsessed:)

I just can't get enough of our little guy! I know I've been posting a TON of photos but look how cute he is!! Here is more of him with his Daddy.

Bathtime with Luke~

These are photos that Grammy took of one of Luke's first bath times. Luke was taking a nap and I knew he had to eat soon. I thought it would wake him up to give him a bath. I picked him up out of the bassinet and put him in the tub. To much surprise Luke didn't wake up! It was the cutest thing to wash him while he was half asleep! Luke LOVES his bathtimes:)

luke's two week doctor visit

Our blog entries are a little out of order but here are pictures from Luke's two week doctor's check up. We can't believe how tiny he looks in these photos. He's so big now! Mr. Luke was such a good boy the entire time. We had to wait for about 30 minutes before the doctor came in and Luke stayed calm despite missing his meal time. Luke had major progress from the last doctor visit. Here is a recap of how the appointment went!

  • Height 20-3/4" (50-75 percentile)
  • Weight 8lbs 4oz (25-50 percentile) - at this appointment Luke didn't make his birth so we had to come back a few days later. He weighed 8lbs 11oz at the next weigh in!
  • Head 38.3cm (90 percentile) That's one big noggin!

Luke is now over a month old! We can't believe how fast the time flies. It feels like yesterday when we were at the hospital meeting our little cuddle bear for the first time. We love him so much and think he is adorable! We can't get enough of his cute face! These are photos I took of him at 4 weeks old.

Our little man frustrated at Mommy taking too long with the photo shoot:)

Luke’s Milestones at 1-4 weeks!
  • He can follow Mommy and Daddy with his eyes
  • He smiles when he hears Mommy and Daddy’s voice
  • He can somewhat sit up and hold his head up
  • He coos
  • He’s been sleeping for six hours during the night! (not consistently yet though)
  • He’s ticklish under his armpits and thighs
  • He loves his bath time. One time he was sleeping and it was time for me to feed him so I thought it would wake him up if we gave him a bath. He almost slept through the entire bath time.
  • He hates to sit in his dirty diapers. As soon as he’s done doing business he lets mommy and daddy know he needs to be changed.
  • He has two cries: the rhythmic cry is his hungry cry. He has a fussy cry as we like to call it where he pouts his under lip. This is Mommy and Daddy’s favorite cry. He just looks so darn cute!
  • Mommy and Daddy love our mornings with Luke. We wake him up and take him from the crib to our room and play with him in our bed. He’s so happy and cuddly.
  • Ever since the day we brought him home Luke has had a fascination with the bookcase in the study. He will just stare at it with his big eyes in amazement. Dave and I have no idea what this fascination is but every time he stares at it we crack up. It’s the BOOKCASE!

Luke is born!

Luke David Gentile was born on February 10, 2011 at 7:10pm weighing 8lb 8oz and 20 inches long! This is Luke when he was just shy of one week old!

the recap

We Gentile's have decided it was time for us to catch up with the times and start blogging! We hope this is a way for our friends and family to keep up with the daily highlights of our lives. Not that we're exciting or anything! It's also a way for us to look back and reminisce those highlights. This is way better then writing in a journal by hand! For Dave and I to summarize the last eight almost nine years of our lives together; we got married back in July of 2006. We dated for almost FOUR years prior to our marriage. I'll do a later post with the recap of our engagement story. Our only "child" for the first four years of marriage was our dopey German Shepherd, Rufus. We enjoyed so much having those first few years of our marriage as just husband and wife with no responsibility except maintaining our jobs and feeding Rufus:). When we hit that four year mark we both thought the years flew by and still felt like newly weds! We both decided it was about time we talk about expanding our family and I don't mean with more Rufus's:). Back in March of 2010 we found out we were going to have a baby!! We were both so excited about the news! We welcomed our little one into the world on February 10, 2011! I'll be posting how we found out the news and how we shared it with our immediate families soon as well as Luke's arrival and our busy lives as parents. We hope you all find this entertaining and never boring. We love you all! Ashley and Dave

Big shout out to my sister-in-law, Lauren for motivating me to start blogging. I LOVE reading yours and hope ours can be just as entertaining!
