Luke's first day of Pre-K!

Luke had an extra pep in his step heading off to PRE-K!! I think he knew he was big man on campus. More then the other two years he was super excited to start school. I think because he knows this is the next step to kindergarten. He was never really interested in learning until the start of this year. I was a little worried I was going to have trouble with him liking to learn! But I think I told him enough this summer about what big kids and kindergartner's do that he was excited to learn and be just like them. Just this summer he started drawing his first 'real' pictures. His first picture was a robot and his second was of him at the top of a snow mountain and Caleb and Daddy at the bottom. I was the proudest Momma and have them hanging on our refrigerator with such pride.

And here's the big man off to school. Thanks Grammy and PaPa for the scholarship;)

Kate's first day of Preschool!

This was Kate's first year and she was just too cute and so excited to be doing something her older brother gets to do. I've never seen someone so excited to head off to school. I thought for sure once we would walk to class fear would creep in and she would decide it wasn't for her. Nope, she went straight into class without any hesitation. So much so, I had to walk into her class to make her give me a hug and kiss good bye. She was just too busy and independent for me. She's all about carrying her book bag and finding it herself when she gets out of class for the day.

I love how when I asked her how she liked her first day she actually answered! She said it was good and I asked what they learned and she said the days of the week. It's also really cute to watch her recite the snack time prayer. I love seeing those cute chunky hands being folded together and eyes squinted head bowed as they pray. So cute! She learned to tickle the wall (genius teacher idea to get the kids to stay against the wall!).

Katelyn has grown up so much since her 2nd birthday. She is such a little Momma. Always helping with Caleb and telling him and Luke what to do. She loves to make up her own songs and will dance, walk and play while singing. She also loves Mickey Mouse clubhouse and Minnie Mouse. She's really into superheroes and pretending she's batman too. Probably because the only dress up clothes she has in the house are Luke's....guess I need to purchase a couple princess gowns...:). Kate has an insane vocabulary and literally blows us away every day with her dialogue. Most the time she has us rolling with laughter because she's just so funny. She is also quite the artist. She usually prefers to draw and paint her masterpieces on the walls, table and her body so I don't have proof of her creativeness on paper quite yet. I'm very impressed with her skills though. She's able to draw shapes and copy letters. She holds her own too and keeps up very well with big brother. Of course she's also stubborn (two stubborn parents makes for all stubborn children) and has decided to not be potty trained. As much as she is a big girl with her milestones she still in her heart wants to be a baby. She's not quite ready to make that step.

Here she is off to her first day of preschool. Thank you Grammy and Pa-pa for the scholarship;). They are so happy!!

First day of Preschool!

The kids had their first month of preschool!
I was originally going to combine both Luke and Kate's preschool blog entry into one post but then realized I wanted Kate to have her very own post since this was her very first year in preschool! Had to make our little girl feel special too:).

Caleb is 7 months old

It's seems like every month some big milestone occurs. This month it was full on crawling, sitting up and pulling up. I can't believe how fast everything is happening. It's exciting but also sad to see just how fast this sweet little baby stage goes.

We're loving every second of every day with this guy!

What you're up too
  • You are pretty much the easiest most laid back guy we know:).
  • You are definitely on the move and like crawling around discovering and playing with things in each direction.
  • You've started table foods. There hasn't been anything you haven't liked. You pretty much inhale it too.
  • You've gotten knocked down a few times by Kate and Luke.
  • When you sleep you like to find your blanket and stuff the tags in your mouth.
  • When you're in your crib you like to throw your stuffed animals, pacifier and blanket out.
  • You've pretty much stopped using a pacifier.
  • You poop ALL THE TIME! It's got to be at least 4 times a day. It's so much that I can't keep track of how many times a day you do!
  • It's really easy to get a belly laugh out of you. Just a couple snorts or peek-a-boo.
  • I love how you can find me in the room and give me a big grin from ear to ear. I think you may be kind of a Momma's boy:).
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE to kiss you and hold you tight and smell you.
  • I love how you have a dimple on your nose. I know, weird place for a dimple...but when you smile or breath hard it appears!
  • When you get upset you're pretty easy to distract. Just do something silly and you start laughing instead.
  • When nursing you get very distracted and pull off a lot to take a look at what's going on. It's almost impossible to nurse in public. You always seems to pull the hooter-hider up! When I'm home and nursing I literally have to lock ourselves in a room to get the session over. It's a good thing you can knock it out in under 10 minutes. Lots of damage can be done in 10 minutes from the siblings (i.e. Kate).
  • When you want Kate and Luke to play with you and crawl into them and kind of nudge them.
  • Luke and Kate like to get down and crawl with you. They like to try and race.
  • You notice when someone takes your toy away from you and you don't like it;).
  • He loves the pool. It's cute watching him splash the water. He doesn't seem to be a fan of the bathtub yet. I'm not sure what it is that makes him scared. He does better taking showers then baths right now...
And the best part...you at 7 months old.
